Relative Humidity
DATASET DESCRIPTION
The daily relative humidity data at 2 meters above the surface over Ontario are provided from 1996 to 2023. These data are available in full-coverage gridded maps with two spatial resolution (0.01° x 0.01° and 0.1° x 0.1°). The relative humidity data are derived from the ERA5-Land reanalysis dataset, which combines model data with global observations to create a consistent and comprehensive dataset.
The dataset offers insights into the moisture content in the air, a crucial factor in understanding the weather patterns and environmental conditions. Higher relative humidity can influence weather events, such as precipitation and affect human comfort and health. The accuracy of the ERA5 weather data is validated in Muñoz-Sabater et al. (2021).
