Nicholas Grubic Recognized as a 2024 Vanier Scholar

The DLSPH and Ge-iSEE lab are thrilled to congratulate Nichoas Grubic on being named a 2024 Vanier Scholar. This prestigious award, valued at $50,000 per year for three years, recognizes outstanding doctoral students in health research, natural science, engineering, and social science based on academic excellence, research potential, and leadership.
Nicholas’s research, “An Evaluation of Socioeconomic Inequalities in Cardiovascular Health Among Canadian Children and Adolescents”, explores how socioeconomic factors impact cardiovascular risk in youth. Using national survey data, he will analyze how adolescent behaviors influence long-term cardiovascular health across different socioeconomic groups.
